Water Consumption in an average household
A Typical Household will consume on average about 200 - 250 litres per day:
• A bath uses about 80 - 90 litres
• A Shower uses about 30 litres.
• A dishwasher uses about 20 - 50 litres.
• A standard toilet uses about 9 - 13 litres per flush
• A washing machine uses about 100 litres
Lets Save Water !!
Water comes out of the average tap at 6 litres per minute. Don’t let all that water go down the drain while you brush your teeth! Rather turn off the tap after you wet your brush, and leave it off until it’s time to rinse.

Turn off the tap when washing your hands. Only turn on the tap to rinse your hands. Saving on your hot water usage will also reduce your electricity bill
The average shower uses about 30 litres of water. Shortening the shower will reduce the consumption. Also consider replacing your shower head with a slow flow shower head which restricts the water flow.
This will cut out all unncessary washes.
A dripping tap could loose about 15 litres per day.
A hose pipe uses about 1000 litres per hour. Also watering your plants in the early hours of the morning or late afternoon will reduce the evaporation.
